Educational Qualifications: Matriculation or equivalent from recognized university/Board with Two years work experience in respective trades (OR) One year certificate course from Industrial Training Institute/vocational institute with at least one year experience in the trade (OR) Two years Diploma from Industrial Training Institute in the trade or similar trade.

Physical standards: Height – 167.5 Cms, Chest – 78-83 Cms and weight – proportionate to height as per medical standard. Relaxation as per Govt order.

Selection Process:

  • Documentation (Original documents will be checked)
  • Physical Standard Test (PST)
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Five Kilometers race to be completed within 24 minutes.
  • Trade Test – Only qualifying in nature. The candidates who qualify the PET will be put through the respective Trade Test. Each candidate will be allowed to appear for one trade test only as entered in the application form.
  • Written Test – for 100 marks containing 100 questions (qualifying marks 35% for GC & Ex-Servicemen and 33% for SC/ST/OBC) will consist of only objective type multiple choice questions to be answered on an OMR based answer sheet within 2 hours. The question paper will be set to assess the (i) General Awareness/General Knowledge, (ii) Knowledge of elementary mathematic, (iii) Analytical aptitude and ability to observe the distinguish patterns and to test the (iv) basic knowledge of the candidates in English/Hindi. The questions will be set both in Hindi and English. The papers can be answered either in Hindi or in English.
  • Medical Examination.

How To Apply: Prescribed application forms may be downloaded from BSF Website and printed out in foolscap size (single side) paper. The application forms duly filled up along with passport size photograph be sent to concerned Headquarter, under which their State falls. The last date for receipt of application is 10/08/2014.
