Research Positions Available
IITM Pune has announced the following vacancies for the year 2023:
- IITM Research Associates: 12 positions
- IITM Research Fellows: 10 positions
- MRFP Research Fellows: 15 positions
Age Limit
As of 26th June 2023, the age limits for the respective positions are as follows:
- IITM Research Associates: Maximum 35 years
- IITM Research Fellows: Maximum 28 years
- MRFP Research Fellows: Maximum 28 years
Attractive Salaries Await
The selected candidates will receive competitive salaries and allowances as per the IITM guidelines. The salary details are as follows:
- IITM Research Associates: ₹47,000 per month along with admissible HRA
- IITM Research Fellows: ₹31,000 per month along with admissible HRA
- MRFP Research Fellows: ₹31,000 per month along with admissible HRA
Educational Qualifications
To be eligible for the positions, candidates must meet the following educational qualifications:
IITM Research Associates:
- Doctorate degree from a recognized University in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, Oceanography, Physics, Applied Physics, Geophysics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Geology, Earth Sciences, Computer Science, Computer Applications, or equivalent subjects.
- At least one research paper in a Science Citation Index (SCI) journal in the relevant field.
IITM Research Fellows:
- Post Graduate degree in Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematics Sciences, or
- M.Tech. in Atmospheric/Oceanic Sciences or equivalent subject, or
- Master’s degree from any branch of Engineering.
MRFP Research Fellows:
- Qualified NET/GATE/LS (CSIR/UGC/ICAR).
- Candidates appearing for the final year of M.Sc./M.S./M.Tech can also apply. However, their appointment is subject to passing the M.Tech./M.Sc./M.S. examination as evidenced by mark sheets/provisional degree certificate.
Selection Process for IITM Recruitment
The selection process for the IITM Pune Recruitment 2023 includes:
- Written Examination: Candidates will undergo a written examination to assess their knowledge and aptitude in the respective field.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates from the written examination will be called for an interview to further evaluate their skills and suitability for the research positions.
